Accommodations

There are a number of hotels that are conveniently located close to the Friday Center, either by foot, a short bus ride, or drive.  We have broken down the list of available accommodations into three tiers based on convenience, with the first tier being the most convenient to and from the conference center.

The conference will supply private buses to all hotels listed below, but those in tier 3 will require a longer tip to the conference venue. Large buses will run at the start and end of the day and to the evening events.  Smaller shuttles will circulate to and from the hotels throughout each day.

We encourage everyone to book at hotels in tiers 1 and 2 if possible, as these hotels will afford the easiest access to the conference for most attendees. If you select a hotel in tier 3 you might consider renting a car to get around town. Parking is free at the Friday Center for participants and at several of the hotels as well and a car allows easy access to a wide variety of Chapel Hill’s excellent restaurants.

Note that Chapel Hill does provide a reliable, free bus service, called Chapel Hill Transit. The lines that directly serve the Friday Center are FCX, V, S, and HU. You can find real-time information using Next Bus. However, the CHT does not have bus lines that run directly between the Friday Center and all of the hotels (see below).

To book a room: follow the links for each hotel to the special iPRES reservation sites, or call and inquire about iPRES 2015 conference rooms. We have blocks of rooms reserved for each location, and these sites will allow you to book these rooms.

Tier 1
In addition to the buses being provided by iPRES, hotels in tier 1 are either walking distance to the Friday Center, or have regular shuttle service to and from the conference center.

If you are staying in a tier 3 hotel, you will probably want to rely on the buses being provided by iPRES or rent a car.  Taking a city bus to the Friday Center from these hotels will require a transfer.
